This bed and breakfast mansion is truly one of this areas finest examples of turn of the century elegance and should not be missed.
This exquisite Colonial Revival home was built in 1905 by Cornelius Daly for his wife, Annie, and their five children.
The home has four woodburning fireplaces, lovely Victorian gardens, a third floor "Christmas ballroom" and is completely furnished with antiques reflecting the charm of the early 1900s.
ROOMS:
Miss Martha’s Room - This delightful room was the nursery of the Daly home. The room has opaque windows through which light from the hall would illuminate it. No gas for light or heat was supplied to the nursery, and electricity was only recently added. This cheery room is furnished with bleached pine antiques from Holland and has twin beds.
Annie Murphy's Room - Originally the master bedroom of the Daly home, this bright, sunny room has a fireplace and overlooks a Victorian garden and fishpond. The French oak bedroom suite, ornamented with gold ormolu is complete with a gentlemen’s armoire and a ladies’ dressing table.
The Guest Room - This bedroom was reserved for visiting friends, family, and business associates of the Daly’s. The room is adjoined by a private bath with the original clawfoot bathtub. It is furnished with an ornate, hand-carved bedroom set from Belgium. This is a charming room with large windows overlooking the surrounding Victorian architecture.
The Victorian Rose Suite - This beautiful, three-room suite is decorated with white wicker furniture and various black floral wall coverings and fabrics. These rooms are often used as the Bridal Suite and consist of a bedroom, sitting room, and large bath.
This suite also has a daybed and can accommodate up to 4 people.
The Garden View Suite - A tasteful return to the Victorian Era, this three-room suite (bedroom, sitting room and bath) is decorated with English walnut antiques and Victorian reproduction wall coverings and accessories.
The inn is known for wonderful breakfasts and making guests feel at home in a quiet, romantic atmosphere. Enjoy a leisurely morning meal in the sunlit breakfast parlor, the garden patio, or on cooler days, you may be served in the elegant dining room, seated before a crackling fire.
The Daly Inn is located in the historic district of Eureka, California, a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean and minutes away from the majestic Redwoods. Eureka’s Old Town, with its wonderful shops and restaurants, is within walking distance of the Inn.
